Dreamgirls เข้าชิง 8 สาขาในออสการ์ปีนี้

มาร์ติน สกอร์เซซี ได้รับการเสนอชื่อเข้าชิงรางวัลผู้กำกับยอดเยี่ยมจากภาพยนตร์เรื่อง The Departed นอกจากนี้เรื่อง Little Miss Sunshine หนังฟอร์มเล็กที่ได้รับการเสนอชื่อเข้าชิงภาพยนตร์ยอดเยี่ยม แต่ Dreamgirl นั้นผลิกความคาดหมาย เพราะไม่มีชื่ออยู่ในโผผู้เข้าชิงรางวัลภาพยนตร์ยอดเยี่ยม หรือผู้กำกับยอดเยี่ยม อย่างที่หลายๆ คนคาดการณ์ไว้แล้ว แต่ภาพยนตร์เรื่องนี้ก็ได้รับการเสนอชือเช้าชิงถึง 8 สาขา

Babel เข้าชิง 7 สาขารางวัล ตามด้วยเรื่อง The Queen และ Pan's Labyrinth เข้าชิง 6 สาขาเท่ากัน และ The Departed กับ Blodd Diamond ได้รับการเสนอชื่อ 5 สาขารางวัล นอกจากนี้เรื่อง Little Miss Sunshine, Notes on a scandal, Letters from iwo jima และ Pirates of the caribbean: Dead Man's Chest เข้าชิง 4 สาขาเท่ากัน

การประกาศผลรางวัลออสการ์ครั้งที่79 จะมีขึ้นในวันที่ 25 กุมภาพันธ์นี้ ที่โกดัก เธียร์เตอร์ ใน ฮอลลีวูด และ Ellen DeGeneres รับหน้าที่เป็นผู้ดำเนินรายการ
